BrightKeys does not collect or upload the information you put into the app. There is no BrightKeys account, no developer-operated data server, and no analytics running in the background. This page explains what that means in practice.
What we do not do
- We do not receive your name, email address, entries, activity, or device identifier from the app.
- There are no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.
- There is no analytics or tracking, no developer-operated crash reporting, no advertising identifier, and no advertising or tracking software inside the app.
- We do not sell or share your app content. We cannot, because we never receive it.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter — your homes with their names, photos, listing links, and notes, your "What can I afford?" answers, your rent now, your loan on the Payoff tab, and your settings — is saved in the app’s own private storage on your device. It is not transmitted anywhere.
If you back up your device, that data is included in the backup, as it is for any other app. Those are backups you have chosen to make, they are governed by your device manufacturer’s terms, and they are not something we can see or control.
App marketplace purchases
BrightKeys uses your device’s app marketplace to check, buy, or restore its one-time purchase. The marketplace provider processes payment and account information under its own privacy policy. The app receives only the transaction and entitlement information it needs to decide whether purchased features are available; it does not attach your entries or activity to that request, and NuPebbles does not receive your payment details.
Buying or restoring the purchase requires a connection to the app marketplace. The app’s private content remains on your device, and its everyday features do not depend on a NuPebbles account or server.
When information leaves your device
Only when you deliberately send it. BrightKeys makes one kind of file, a backup file with everything you saved in the app, and only when you tap “Make a backup file.” Your phone then asks where the file goes, and you pick the place. We never see it and never receive a copy.
Links you tap
Some rows in BrightKeys open an official source page, from a government agency, Fannie Mae, or Freddie Mac, and each row says where it goes. If you add a listing link to a home, “View listing” opens that page. The “Privacy policy” and “Support” rows on More open BrightKeys’ pages on this site, nupebbles.com. Pages open only when you tap. Your phone sends the request to that site, as it does for any link you tap, and that site’s own privacy policy applies. Nothing else from the app goes with it.
A home’s photo
You take it with your camera or choose it in your phone’s own photo picker, which shares only the photo you pick. The app asks for the camera only when you tap “Take a photo.” The photo is saved in the app’s private storage on your device.
Backup files
“Make a backup file” (More > Back up your data) puts everything you saved in the app, photos included, into one file. The file has no password, so anyone who has it can read it. Keep it somewhere you trust. “Restore from a backup” reads only the file you choose. It adds what this phone doesn’t have yet and never removes anything already here.
Children
BrightKeys may be used by people of different ages. Because the app does not collect personal information, it does not collect personal information from children.
Your rights over your data
Your app data is already in your hands. You can make a backup file of it from within the app at any time. You can also delete a home, with its photo, listing link, and notes, or remove your loan on the Payoff tab. The app has no button that erases everything at once. Removing the app removes its local data from your device; any device backup you chose to make remains subject to your device and backup provider’s controls. NuPebbles has no server copy to return, correct, or delete.
This website and support email
This website is separate from the apps and does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. If you choose to email us, your email address and whatever you include in the message are sent through the email providers involved in delivery. We use that information only to answer you and do not sell it. Please do not include private app entries unless they are necessary to explain your question.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Any change that involved collecting information would be described on this page before it took effect.
