Help with BrightTend is below. If your question isn’t answered here, email support@nupebbles.com and a person will reply.

Adding an action

Go to Settings → Your actions → Add an action. Give it a name, choose the weekdays it applies to, pick a color, and — if you like — add a short why line to remind you what it’s for.

Recording a day

Each day, an action has three possible answers: Did it, Some of it, or Not today. Tap one to record it. Tap it again to clear it, or tap a different answer to change it.

You can change today’s answers and note until midnight. Past days are kept as they were recorded.

In the morning check-in, Record now instead lets you answer straight away rather than waiting for the evening, and Leave it for this evening keeps the day open until then.

Finding a note

In History, type in Search your notes to find any day’s note, then tap a result to see that day. The search field appears once you’ve written at least one note.

Archiving versus deleting

Archive an action when you’re done with it but want to keep what you recorded. Its history and its color stay.

Delete removes the action and everything recorded for it. There is no undo.

Moving to a new phone

On the old phone, go to Settings → Your data → Save a backup and keep the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone.

On the new phone, tap Restore a backup on the first screen, or use Restore from a backup in Settings → Your data. BrightTend checks that the file is a valid backup before it changes anything, so a wrong file can’t damage what’s already there.

Under Save a backup, BrightTend shows when you last saved one. If it’s been about a month, a short note on Today offers to save a new one.

A readable copy

Settings → Your data → Save as plain text creates a text file of your actions, answers and notes that opens anywhere. It can’t be restored. To move your data to a new phone, use Save a backup.

If tapping the file opens a different app instead of showing the text, press and hold the file in the Files app and choose Quick Look. The file is fine — iPhone sends text files to whichever app has asked to open them.

Reminders and text size

The evening reminder starts on and arrives at your evening hour. The morning reminder starts off. You can turn either reminder on or off in Settings.

If you haven’t opened BrightTend for a few days, reminders space themselves out and stop after four weeks. Opening the app brings them back to daily.

BrightTend offers five text sizes of its own, applied on top of your device’s text size setting — so if the system size is already right for you, you can still make BrightTend a little larger or smaller.

Buying, restoring and refunds

BrightTend Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

To get it back on a new phone or after reinstalling, go to Settings → BrightTend Lifetime → Unlimited actions and PDF exports and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account.

Apple handles all payments and refunds. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Because BrightTend keeps everything on your device and sends nothing to us, we cannot see your entries or recover them for you — if a question is about something you wrote, please describe it in the message.
